Squards

Squards is a calm Match-2 logic game and a remake of the 1996 ZX Spectrum title of the same name, originally created by Spark Creative Group and based on the classic solitaire “4 Rows”.

The core idea is simple: remove matching tiles from the bottom row, unlock tiles above them, and gradually clear the board. Despite its simplicity, Squards offers strategic depth thanks to its bonus system, multiple difficulty levels, and varied game modes.

About this release

The game was originally released for iOS in 2014, but the launch wasn’t commercially successful and the App Store publishing license never paid off. After the license expired, the mobile version became unavailable. In 2015 a free Win32 build was created — and this is the version preserved and shared here on itch.io as part of the game’s legacy.
